A lot of new features in v1.1 of the Reaction Buttons!
After a long quiet time around the WordPress plugin Reaction Buttons, I took some time today to integrate changes I got from another user and check up on feature requests that I got over the past month. The result is version 1.1 with a lot of new features:
- added reaction_buttons_click_count($post_id) to include number of reactions per post in own themes. Returns the accumulated number of clicks of the specified post.
- added the possibility to only allow only one vote per post. (Thanks Vlad for most of the code!)
- added the option to show a javascript popup if you try to vote twice. (Thanks Vlad for the idea and most of the code!)
- added the option to show the results only after the user voted.
It might be neccessary to modify your CSS if you don't use the integrated stylesheet. Hope you like the new features and update without problems. As always, I'm happy about good ratings on wordpress.org!

I’m sorry, I don’t get what you mean. If you want images instead of text, you can do that with a custom CSS.

Hello there!
I stumbled upon your blog while updating the Reactions Plug-In. I noticed that by voting here on your blog, the number of votes raises instantly. However on my wordpress this doesn’t seem to function. The number of votes only raises when I reload the page. So I often get 5 to 6 votes at once because visitors believe that clicking on the button didn’t work. Could you please help me with that?
That would be really great.

Hey I just checked out your FAQ and I actually found the answer. It didn’t work because of the exclamation marks! Thanks for the help. The only thing is that this reset all the votes *sigh*. Anyway, still love your plugin!

Yeah, I’m sorry about that, thats the tradeoff for the plugin being so simple in the background.

Sorry, I don’t have time nor real interest to implement it. If someone wants to send in a patch against the svn version, I’ll include it of course.
